How Wigo works for travelers

Wigo makes it easier to find and reserve a vehicle for your next trip. From searching for a car in your city to documenting its condition when you return it, the app guides you through every stage of the rental.

The steps below explain what to expect, which information you will need, and how you and the host work together to make the trip smooth and secure.

1 Find a car

Start by browsing the vehicles available for rent on Wigo. You can explore the cars currently listed on the platform or search for vehicles in a specific city or area. Searching by location helps you focus on cars that are practical to pick up and return during your trip.

Open any vehicle that interests you to see its description page. Review its photos, daily price, location, main characteristics, and any extra features the host has provided. Take time to compare your options and choose a vehicle that fits the number of travelers, the type of journey, and your budget.

2 Choose your trip dates and times

From the vehicle page, select when you want to pick up the car and when you plan to return it. Both the date and time matter: they define the complete reservation period and help the host prepare for the handoff and return.

Check the selected pickup and drop-off details carefully before continuing. The vehicle must be available for the entire period. Accurate times also help avoid misunderstandings and make it easier for you and the host to meet as planned.

3 Provide your traveler information

To continue with the reservation, Wigo will ask for the information needed to identify you and prepare the trip. You will enter a phone number where you can be reached, your address, and your driver’s license information.

Make sure every detail is current, complete, and matches your official documents. Clear driver’s license images and accurate contact information help the host complete verification without unnecessary delays. If information is missing or difficult to read, you may be asked to provide it again.

4 Review and pay for the trip

Before payment, review the vehicle, rental period, and trip amount one more time. When everything is correct, follow the payment instructions in Wigo to pay for the reservation. Payment confirms your intention to book the selected vehicle for those dates and times.

Keep an eye on the reservation status after payment. The booking still includes an important verification step, so make sure you can receive updates and respond promptly if additional information is requested.

5 Wait for host verification

Once payment is complete, the host reviews the traveler information you submitted. This includes checking the identification and driver’s license details required for the trip. Verification helps the host confirm who will be driving the vehicle before handing over the keys.

If the host needs a clearer photo or corrected information, update it as soon as possible in the app. Watch for the verification decision and any trip updates. Your information should be approved before you proceed with the vehicle handoff.

6 Pick up and document the vehicle

On the day of the trip, meet the host at the agreed pickup place and time. Before driving away, look around the vehicle with the host and make sure you understand how the key handoff will work and whether there are any existing marks or issues you should know about.

Wigo will ask you to take photos of the vehicle before starting the trip. Capture clear images that show its condition from the requested angles, including any visible scratches or damage. These photos create a shared record of how the car looked when you received it, so take them before leaving the pickup location.

7 Use the car responsibly

During the reservation, treat the vehicle with care and use it according to the trip details agreed with the host. Keep track of your scheduled return time and contact the host through the available trip information if an issue affects the handoff or return.

Before heading back, check the vehicle and collect your personal belongings. Allow enough time to reach the return location, complete the final photo process, and hand the keys back without rushing.

8 Return the car and keys

At the end of the trip, return the vehicle at the agreed place and time. Take a second set of clear photos to document its condition after use. As with the pickup photos, make sure the requested views are visible and well lit before you finish the return process.

Finally, give the keys back to the host and confirm that the handoff is complete. The before-and-after photos provide a useful record for both you and the host, while the completed return closes the practical part of your Wigo trip.
